Its 3 weeks to go till we head out bush again for another exciting chapter in building solidarity with the local Aboriginal community and growing the resistance to uranium mining..
The Federal Environment Minister Tony Burke gave conditional approval for the Wiluna Uranium mine last week and things are really heating up.. There is an International crew committed to coming for the walk this year and a lot of people traveling from over East to be here as well..
If you can’t make it over for the walk then please consider making a donation to help us bring all this together..
The Walkatjurra Walkabout is set for the 4th – 28th of May, 2013 and it looks like being even bigger than last years walk.
The walk will continue to be a celebration of Wangkatja country, a testament to the strength of the community who have fought to stop uranium mining at Yeelirrie for over forty years, and a chance to come together and continue to share our commitment to a sustainable future without nuclear. It is a chance to reconnect with the land, and to revive the tradition of walking for country.

Walkatjurra Walkabout will be heading to FRANCE in July, 2013
Footprints for peace and the Walkatjurra walkabout will be heading to France on the 20th of June 2013.
Footprints for Peace has had a long relationship with the Reseau Sortir du nucleaire since we walked London to Geneva in 2008. Members from the Reseau Sortir du nucleaire have came to participate in the Walkatjurra Walkabout and now they have invited us to come back to France to spread the message of the resistance to uranium mining in Australia..
It is crucial that we help raise some funds for getting Kado Muir and other Aboriginal community members to France to share their stories and help build the International movement to end the nuclear chain.
Anyone who would like to contribute to this can make a tax deductible donation to the Walkatjurra Walkabout or please contact us directly if you would like more information..
If you have a lot of frequent flyer points you could also consider using them to help Kado or one of the mob get to France..
Big thanks to everyone who has sent us food and monetary donations, messages of support and just all the messages from around the world to let us know that you will be walking with us in solidarity by the work you are doing in your community..
