Six days now til we head off!

If you are coming in to Perth / Fremantle from somewhere else and need a place to stay then please contact us ASAP.. Marcus: 0400 505 765

This email is an update and includes the following very important info:

1. Where to meet on Monday May 4th for departure

2. Things you might have forgotten to pack but need 😉

3. Payment details again for the bus and food

1. WHERE TO MEET:

Meeting at 8.30am at the carpark of East Perth Bus Station on Saturday May 4th

Please please be there by 8.30am. We need to pack everyone’s luggage in, and be on the road by 9.30 am sharp.

PLEASE BRING A PACKED LUNCH WITH YOU FOR THIS DAY! (The only day we ask this 😉 just makes the whole thing easier coz we wont have time for a big communal lunch)

The bus will also be departing from 17 Samson st, Fremantle at 7.30am so if this is an easier option for you then be here at 6.45am..

2.WHAT TO BRING: Here’s a few important things:

Tent
Sleeping bag & mat
Torch
Raincoat
Sunhat & sunscreen
Toiletries
Warm and cool clothing (good idea to have a long-sleeve collared shirt for sun protection, and thermals, gloves, beanie. It gets cold at night out there!!)
Some washing detergent/soap to wash undies when we have a chance (in buckets still with limited water)
Wash Cloth – Desert Nanna Hot Tip # 1: Cutting up an old towel (or using a facewasher) for wash cloths is a great way to have a wash with very little water required – (coz we won’t be having many showers 🙂 )
Personal spending money (Not many places to spend it!!)
Pen
Camera
Journal
Sunscreen
Blister care (we will have 1st aid kits with us, but idea gd to bring your own pawpaw/bandaid/blister care stuff)
Waterbottle
Daypack.

Please ensure you bring your own eating utensils including a bowl or plate, container to pack your lunch, mug & cutlery. You are responsible for your own luggage.

PLEASE KEEP LUGGAGE TO A MINIMUM!

Desert Nanna Hot Tip #2: We are all gonna be stinky out there together – if you’re wanting to pack any extra clothing, just make it an extra pair of socks, long sleeve shirt, hat and make sure you have thermals&warm jumper)

3. PAYMENT DETAILS FOR BUS AND FOOD:

Thanks to all who have already paid for bus and food, and paid in advance for the days they know they are joining the walk. The bus is full, so if you haven’t indicated to me that you need a ride on the bus, please get in touch asap, Marcus: 0400 505 765 or email walk4country@gmail.com

It costs $80 for the bus (one way) 🙂 Payment for the bus would be welcome before we leave, deposits into FANG account with your last name and “bus” in the reference line.

Or just confirm with me that you will pay on the day..

If you’re getting a lift up with someone in their car, please arrange between yourselves to share petrol costs.

The only other costs for the walk is the $5-$10 a day to join. If you think you’ll have trouble paying this, that’s ok, just get in touch with me and we can sort something out.

Payments are welcome now, or before we leave as the only atm you’ll have a chance to get to is in Kalgoorlie and Leonora.
